L-G inaugurates Mahatma’s birth anniversary event at Pondicherry University

Speaking on the occasion after paying tributes to Mahatma, she exhorted the youth to follow the path shown by Gandhi.

The  Lt Governor called upon Gandhi Kanagaraj, founder of Mahatma Gandhi Moral Academy, Chennai, to establish  the Mahatma Gandhi Academy in Puducherry as well.

Paying Re 1 as founder member of the academy as required in the by-law, Bedi initiated the launch of the academy in Puducherry. 

Following this, many students enrolled as members of the academy by paying Re 1 to Kanagaraj.

Speaking on the occasion, Kanagaraj said Mahatma Gandhi loved his enemies. He promoted the principles of ahimsa and spirituality, Kanagaraj said and stressed that people should follow ahimsa and love one’s enemy. He also put forth a request to the government to make an arrangement with other countries to adopt the ahimsa principle of Gandhi.
