‘Bid to drag Purohit into Nirmala row'

“If the truth about Nirmala Devi comes out, the political life of several Tamil Nadu politicians will be under a question mark and there is a constant effort to drag the Governor into the issue,” Pon Radhakrishnan told media representatives on Tuesday. 

The State should conduct a detailed enquiry into the Nirmala Devi case, he said. To a query that the DMK had termed the arrest of Gopal as an assault on press freedom and democracy, Radhakrishnan shot back that the DMK does not have any locus standi to talk about freedom of press and attack on media.
