Speaking to the media after worshipping at a temple in Bhima Nagar, H Raja alleged that HR and CE employees and officials ask for commission even for consecration of temples. He claimed that the HR and CE Department takes away all the income from temples and fails to maintain the shrines. “They do not even follow court orders that requires them to give land for rent at market rate,” he said.
Stating that the department’s failure to protect the temples facilitate idol thefts, H Raja said several thousands of temples lay in a state of ruin and they should be renovated and maintained properly.
Meanwhile, he claimed that the Australian Prime Minister gifted a stolen idol of Nataraja to Modi in 2016. “That particular idol was stolen from Sripuranthan temple near Ariyalur,” he said.
He also alleged that the HR and CE Department has been trying to destroy Hindu religion and officials from other religions should not be posted in the department.
