Agri Krishnamurthy named farmers’ wing secretary in AIADMK reshuffle

The appointment of the office bearers comes at a time when the Dravidian major is fighting a factional feud and challenge by rebel leader TTV Dhinakaran, post the demise of charismatic AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. 

A joint statement issued by party convenor O Panneerselvam and co-convenor Edappadi K Palaniswami appointed new organising secretaries and designated state-level office bearers for various party units. 

Minister for Adi Dravidar welfare Rajalakshmi was designated as deputy secretary of the AIADMK’s women’s wing. 

A statement from AIADMK headquarters announced P Mohan, R Murugaiah Pandian, N Chinnadurai, Senji S Ramachandran and M Paranjothi as party organising secretaries. Former minister Agri SS Krishnamurthy was appointed as the state farmer’s wing secretary and Amman K Arjunan was appointed as the secretary for traders’ wing, the statement said. Former district secretaries Ku Sreenivasan and Thoppu Venkatachalam were designated as joint secretaries of Amma Peravai. 

Former ministers Madhavaram Murthy, TKM Chinniah and BV Ramana were designated joint secretaries of MGR Mandram. Newsreader Nirmala Periyasamy and film director Liyagath Alikhan were announced as the party spokespersons.
