Monthly farmers meet to be held in Karaikal
Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Saturday inspected the Arasalar drinking water scheme in Karaikal

According to a Raj Nivas release, Bedi was accompanied by the Karaikal Collector during her field visit.
Earlier, she was welcomed by Agriculture Minister Kamalakannan and other government officials.
Meanwhile, various farmers’ association representatives placed their concerns and requests before her and Kamalakannan.
Taking their grievance on board, the Lt Governor said that the District Collector will hold a monthly farmers meet.
An exclusive farmers time will be slotted during the weekly Karaikal video conferencing grievance hearing in the Raj Nivas in the presence of Director of Agriculture, she added.
The release also stated that Saturday marked the beginning of “people connect”, an government initiative. All the regions of the UT namely Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam witnessed field visits by the respective administration heads.
This initiative helps to usher in a people-friendly governance aimed at finding solutions in coordination with all government agencies and the local community, the release added.
