The Coimbatore-based Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) issued the transfer orders based on the report submitted by the five-member enquiry committee recently. It may be recalled that Thangapandian, who was accused of harassing the girl, was suspended a few days ago.

While the student has been asked to join the Anbil Dharmalingam agricultural college in Tiruchy immediately, two other assistant professors, Punitha and Mythili, who tried to help Thangapandian, were transferred to TNAU Coimbatore and the Tiruvallur agricultural college respectively with immediate effect.

However, the girl student has refused to comply with the order. “This is a calculated move to save the accused,” she said, adding that she would continue to protest till the perpetrators are punished.
