Justice A D Jagadish Chandira before whom DMK’s plea seeking a direction to DVAC to undertake a probe based on their complaint came up on Tuesday, Advocate General Vijay Narayan submitted that the DFR dispatched on August 28 has reached the vigilance commissioner and he has to pass orders on the same. The Advocate General also submitted a counter to DMK’s complaints against the Chief Minister.
DMK’s organising secretary R S Bharathy had alleged in his plea that the Chief Minister abusing his power had allocated five highway laying and maintenance projects worth Rs 3,500 crore to firms owned by his relatives.
He said the Chief Minister besides misusing his position as a public servant in doing so had also provided the contracts at inflated rates causing severe loss to the exchequer and thereby enriched himself and others.
However, with DMK’s counsel seeking time to go through the counter, posted the matter for further hearing to Friday.
