Tiruchy teen’s video shot before suicide goes viral
A 18-year-old youth created flutter among the public in Manapparai after circulating a video of his suicide attempt on Thursday. Despite searches conducted by the police, the body of the deceased was discovered only on Friday.

The deceased was identified as M Raman, a resident of Rasipatti in Tiruchy, who, in the video, said that one was responsible for his death and that he was forced to commit suicide by two families in their locality.
Further, the teenager said in the video that after his death, he will “certainly take revenge against those families” and that his friends would look after his family. Raman had also captured a picture of him before taking the extreme step and shared it on WhatsApp.
Right after the video went viral, the Thuvarankurichi police started a search for Raman, taking hints from the video posted by him. They also went to Velamalai near his village around 12:30 am, however, Raman had already hanged himself by that time.
Subsequently, the police retrieved the body of the deceased and sent it to Manapparai Government Hospital for post mortem. Moreover, Raman reportedly believed that his family has been affected by a black magician and he had informed his friends about it.
2 students end lives in Vellore
Two students hailing from district committed suicide over different reasons, on Thursday. Naveen (14) son of Velayudham, a resident of Maaveri village near Ambur, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling after he was reportedly scolded by his father. Naveen was a Class 9 student at a government-aided school at Devalapuram. His parents reportedly tried to cremate their son’s body without informing the police. On information about the incident, Umarabad police registered a case and took possession of the body. The body of the deceased was sent to Ambur government hospital for post mortem. Further investigation is on in this connection. In another incident, Salomi (23), daughter of Munusamy of Keezhanthurai near Arakkonam, immolated herself at her home, reportedly due to an illness she was suffering from since over two years. She was rushed to the Arakkonam government hospital and from there, she was shifted to the Chennai government hospital where she succumbed on Thursday night. Arakkonam taluk police registered a case in this connection and further investigation is on.
