Talking to media persons here, Anbazhagan said, while the Tamil Nadu government is getting 65 per cent seats as government quota from private medical colleges, the government here  is getting 27, 30 or 33 per cent seats.

When the AIADMK staged a walk out in the last session of the Assembly, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy announced that a legislation to get 50 per cent seats would be enacted. However, nothing has materialised as bribes were allegedly obtained by the government from the private medical colleges, the AIADMK leader said.

There was widespread irregularities in the medical admission for the past ten years, he further alleged.

Similarly, when NEET was introduced, the government after allegedly getting bribe from the deemed universties here failed to inform the court about the  government quota already obtained and the government lost all the seats in the deemed universities, he said.

Anbazhagan said the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) won a case against the MCI and got order from the court to fill up another 50 seats and the government failed to take any step to get the government quota from that 50 seats.

Anbazhagan said PIMS is now in the verge of filling up all the 50 seats and if the government failed to get the quota, the AIADMK would organise a agitation.

He said the government earmarked Rs 38 crore towards the salary of Anganwadi workers. But they were not paid for the last six months due to financial crisis. Similarly employees from the cooperative sector were also not paid for quite some time. If the disbursement of salary is affected due to financial crisis, then it should start from the Chief Secretary, Anbazhagan added.
