Sasikumar murder: NIA raids Kovai suspect’s house, saw mill
Sleuths attached to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday carried out raids in the house and the saw mill of a person in connection with the murder of Hindu Munnani spokesperson C Sasikumar, in Coimbatore.

A team of the NIA sleuths swooped down on S Munna’s house at Sai Baba Colony and his saw mill at Kannappan Nagar. During the raid, which extended till evening, the NIA sleuths seized cell phones, sim cards, DVDs, pen drives and documents from the house.
Sasikumar was hacked to death by a four-member gang at Subramaniyampalayam on the night of September 22, 2016. Initially, the case was investigated by Coimbatore rural police. However, as the cops failed to make any breakthrough, it was transferred to the Crime Branch-CID (SID).
Following investigations, the CB-CID sleuths arrested four persons, Mubarak of KK Pudur, S Saddam Hussain of Karunanidhi Nagar, S Zubair of GM Nagar and Syed Abu Dhakir of Karumbukadai. They were picked up from various hideouts in Kerala, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Thereafter, the NIA took the investigation into the murder case suspecting terror links to the accused persons.
