Governor, Palaniswami, party leaders extend greetings to Muslims

Governor Purohit, in his message said, “I convey my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters who are celebrating Eid-ulAdha.” “Eid-ul-Adha marks the bowing down of Man to God’s command and celebrates the occasion as one of supreme sacrifice in obedience to the will of the Almighty,” he said, according to a Raj Bhavan release. 

“The festival also teaches the importance of sharing the benefits endowed upon us by God, with the poor, with the relatives and friends and with the rest of the family members,” he said. 

“Let us all on this holy day resolve to shed our ego and arrogance and practice the path of prayer, kindness and generosity,” he said. 

In his message, Palaniswami said the festival was an occasion to sacrifice everything to get the blessings of the Almighty. “Let us on this occasion uphold the spirit of sacrifice, follow the peaceful path shown by Islam and everyone live with a sense of brotherhood,” Palansiwami said and extended his greetings to Muslims. 

In his message, Stalin wished the Muslim brethrens wealth and prosperity on this auspicious occasion. Stating that DMK had implemented various welfare measures for Muslims whenever it was in power, he said the DMK, even while in the Opposition, had raised its voice for their rights. He said the DMK would continue to raise its voice in support of Muslims and extended his greetings to them. 

Leaders of various political parties, including PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss, Youth Wing leader and Lok Sabha member Dr Anbumani, DMDK founder and actor Vijayakanth, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi leader Jawahirullah and others also extended their Bakrid greetings.
