Class 11 exams must for private students
In a significant change with regard to examination patterns, private candidates in Tamil Nadu, who passed Class 10 board exams or any other equivalent test, will not be eligible to take Class 12 board exams directly.

According to the new rule, the private students, who successfully completed Class 10 board exam, will have to take Class 11 board exam before appearing for Class 12 board exams.
Directorate of Examinations, in its order, said, even private Class 12 candidates will not be allowed to take exams when they have arrears or absent for the exam for more than two appearances, in a single academic year.
The order further said that, here-in-after all the applications from private candidates, who want to appear for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, will be processed only through online only.
Accordingly, this academic year, the private candidates should personally go to government examinations service centre, at their respective district, for submitting online applications for taking exams.
Students, who want to appear for supplementary exams, will have to pay Rs 50 per subject and additional of Rs 35 for service charges will be collected. “In addition, the candidates should also pay another Rs 50 extra for online application process,” the order said.
Similarly, private candidates can also avail ‘tatkal scheme’ by paying Rs 1,000 to take exams after they failed to submit their applications in the stipulated time. The directorate also instructed that the candidates, who had submitted their online application, will be given an acknowledgement receipt, which should be kept for the future reference in case of any discretion.
After filing application, students can download their respective hall tickets. Earlier, the hall tickets have to be collected from the examination centres. The directorate also said that it will ensure that examination centres will be allocated in the region where the candidates are hailing from.
For disabled persons, the directorate have instructed that those who want to avail the benefits, including availing one hour extra to write exams, will have to submit doctor certificate along with the application.
