TN Govt announces 1-day holiday and 7-day state mourning to mark the demise of M Karunanidhi

Tamil Nadu Government today announced a State Government holiday on Wednesday, 8th August 2018 in the honour of DMK supremo M Karunanidhi.

The government has also announced a 7-day state mourning from 8th-14th August 2018 for the passing of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi.

According to reports, Government schools and colleges, TASMAC and Government Institutions will remain closed tomorrow.

Essential services such as buses, trains and ambulance will function as usual.

Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy has also announced 1-day state government holiday and 3-day state mourning marking the demise of M Karunanidhi.

Karnataka Government declared one day state mourning for tomorrow due to the death of DMK chief M Karunanidhi.

Bihar Government has announced two day state mourning in wake of M Karunanidhi's death.

Earlier in the evening, the Home Ministry said that the national flag will fly at half mast in Delhi, all state capitals and across Tamil Nadu tomorrow as a mark of respect to DMK chief M Karunanidhi, who passed away today.
