Nanthakumar’s statement assumes significance as there is a case pending with the Madras High Court in connection with alleged malpractices while conducting TNPSC exams in 2016.

He said all the exams will be conducted in transparent manner to create confidence among the candidates and the people. “Confidential measures are being taken to conduct the examinations,” he told the media.

He added that a team will be formed to monitor day-to-day activities of the staff to ensure that everything from conducting exams to announcing results are completed properly.

The official said that if the court’s verdict confirms that there were malpractices, action will be taken against the persons, who indulged in the offence, while conducting the examinations.

Nanthakumar said that in future the examinations will be conducted online which will make it easier to announce the results early. “To start with, the tests, which has the strength between 50,000 and 60,000 candidates, will be conducted online,” he added.

However, he said the remaining examinations for this year will be offline.

“We constantly update our recruitment methodology besides advising the government on all the matters relating to the service conditions of the public servants,” he said.

He added that the process of certificate verification will be done on August 9 for the candidates, who successfully completed the written examination for the post of executive officer, Grade-I in the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Subordinate Service.
