"I met MK Alagiri, MK Stalin, Kanimozhi and offered my consoling words. I came to enquire about the health condition of the country's senior most leader Kalaignar Karunanidhi. I was not able to see him since he was asleep. I pray for his speedy recovery ...(sic)", said Rajinikanth while attending to the questions of the press.

Shortly before his arrival, a press release was issued by Kauvery Hospital Management outlining the progress in his health condition . The report said that the DMK President and Former Chief Minister's health was responding well to medical treatment. It also said he needed to be under extended hospitalisation.

The Kauvery Hospital, where the nonagenarian leader is being treated, continues to team with party cadres, followers and fans from various districts.

Rajinikanth arrived at the hospital from the airport. He is currently shooting for his next untitled project in Dehradun.

Earlier, the actor had called Stalin and enquired about Karunanidhi's health over the phone in the early hours of July 28, Saturday when the DMK chief was admitted to the hospital after his blood pressure dropped.

On July 29, there was a setback in his clinical condition due to difficulty in breathing. Since then, he has been responding well to treatment.

He continues to maintain his vital signs with active medical support according to today's hospital report.
