Nurse Rajeshwari is said to have been asked about the treatment given to Jayalalithaa and the medication consumed by her during her hospitalisation. Nutritionist Bhuvaneshwari was asked about the diet prescribed to Jayalalithaa. This has been a point of contention as documents submitted by Apollo Hospitals revealed that Jayalalithaa was allowed to consume sweets such as gulab jamun and rasgulla during her stay at the hospital even though she was a chronic diabetic. It was later claimed that Jayalalithaa had insisted on eating sweets to celebrate the victory of her party in the by-elections.

Jayalalithaa spent 75 days at the hospital following her admission on September 22, 2016, after taking ill at her residence in Poes Garden. She passed away on December 5, 2016. The Commission is set to submit its final report on October 24 this year. Over 50 individuals have deposed before the one-man commission thus far.
