Rahul can only be Cong chief, not PM: Tamilisai

Addressing reporters at Chennai Airport, Tamilisai said that BJP is people’s party as it has removed the GST on sanitary napkins. “It was the long-term demand of women in the country and heeding to their demands the GST was removed from napkins,” she said.

She also said that people like MDMK leader Vaiko had forgot what Congress did to Tamil Eelam and started supporting Rahul Gandhi. “Congress destroyed Tamil Eelam but Modi on the other hand went to Jaffna and provided ambulance service to Tamil people. Congress killed people in Eelam, whereas BJP is saving the lives of the people,” said Tamilisai.

When asked about the comments of DMK working president MK Stalin, that AIADMK MPs voted for BJP in the no-confidence motion because of the I-T raids in the state, Tamilisai replied that AIADMK voted not in fear but by seeing the developmental activities of the Union government and the schemes implemented in Tamil Nadu.

When asked about Minister Sellur Raju’s comments that Rahul Gandhi is becoming a strong leader, Tamilisai replied that Sellur Raju had said correctly that Rahul Gandhi can become only a leader for Congress party as no one else can become the president of the party. “Rahul cannot become Prime Minister and Modi will hold the seat permanently,” she said.

Replying to the comments of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tamil Nadu being a spiritual soil, Tamilisai said that the BJP intends to provide spiritual politics and she defined the components of the same as love, helping others and a good way of leading life. “BJP is intended to provide it,” she noted.
