Stalin demands I-T dept to share raid details with DVAC or CBI
DMK working president MK Stalin has asked the Income Tax Department to immediately conclude its investigations in the various raids conducted in the AIADMK regime and send the details to the CBI or DVAC.

Citing the inaction of I-T Department on various raids from the raid at the residence of ‘Karur’ Anbunathan in April 2016 to the ongoing crackdown on highway contractors’ since July 16, Stalin said that an indelible blemish would be left on the department and the credibility of its raids if it delays in handing over the details to the DVAC or CBI.
Refusing to accept Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s justification that he has relatives across the state, Stalin said the CM was unable to give a specific answer to why contracts of the highway department were given only to firms of his in-law.
Stalin took exception to the CM’s statement that “It was common to raid tax evaders” and wondered how Rs 180 crore was seized in cash when the highway department pays the contractors by cheque?
Stalin said the BJP-led Centre has the duty and responsibility to ally the doubts of the people.
“Hence, the I-T Department should conclude its investigation on the raids conducted on AIADMK ministers, government officials, including a chief secretary and vice chancellors and share the details with DVAC or CBI.”
