D Arun Pandian (17), a Class 12 student of vocational agriculture in Government Higher Secondary school, Gandharvakottai hailing from Minnathoor village, had reportedly fell unconscious on Tuesday evening while waiting for a bus along with his friends.
Soon, his friends had rushed him to Gandharvakottai government hospital, where he was given first aid. Since his pulse rate was gradually deteriorating, the doctors there referred him to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital.
Finding his pulse rate too low, the doctors there kept Pandian under ventilation.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday night, his teachers Manikandan and Somasundaram went to the hospital to visit him. After inquiring about his condition, they met him in the ward. They were told he has been under ventilation support. Thereafter, the teachers one after another whispered into Pandian’s ears.
After a few minutes, the boy started to move his fingers and then slowly opened his eyes.
Noticing the movement, the doctor told them to continue to talk to him. Soon, he started recognising his teachers.
“It seemed like a movie scene. I was stunned to see my son gaining conscious after hearing the voice of his teachers. Not only me, everyone was surprised when he started to recover,” Pandian’s father Dharman told DT Next.
Dharman added that the doctors had planned to examine the student after he undergoes MRI scan and find the cause for his illness. Currently, the boy is in normal condition and has started to consume food, said the father.
