Car hits bike in Viralimalai, 2 killed

The accident occurred when Vaithianathan (60) and Govindaraj (70) from Viralimalai were proceeding towards the bypass on a two-wheeler on some personal work. As they reached Viralimalai bypass, a Tiruchy-bound car from Madurai hit their two-wheeler.

In the impact, Vaithianathan, who was riding the two-wheeler and his pillion rider Govindaraj, were thrown off the vehicle. The duo suffered severe injuries to their heads and were battling for life. Onlookers and passers-by rushed to the rescue of the two victims. However, they died on the spot due to the excessive bleeding.

On information, the Viralimalai police, who rushed to the spot, recovered both the bodies and sent them to the Manapparai government hospital for post mortem. The police have registered a case in this connection and further investigation is on.
