Ministers thank Rajini for support
The AIADMK on Monday welcomed the support of actor Rajinikanth to the Chennai-Salem Expressway, while clarifying that the party had no ties with the actor. However, PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss took exception to the actor’s support to the project and said the actors failed to know about people’s sufferings.

Distributing wheel chairs to differently-abled persons at Royapuram, Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar said he welcomed the support given by the actor, but it could not be construed as the AIADMK is moving towards the actor. However, School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan wholeheartedly hailed the actor’s remarks appreciating the functioning of his department.
The actor had lauded the functioning of the School Education Department and singled out Sengottaiyan for praise in a press meet on Sunday. Reacting to this, the Minister said he wholeheartedly welcomed the remarks and thanked the actor.
Anbumani Ramadoss also opposed the actor’s opinion on conducting Parliament and state assemblies’ elections simultaneously, saying that it would suppress the state issues.
