Youth hacked to death in Pondy

According to police, Tamizh alias Ilavarasan (24) a MCom graduate purchased a bullock cart ten days back and was engaged in smuggling sand from Sankarabharani river, following the death of his father.Ilavarasan who is from Karayanpet near Villianur went to Kanuvaipet on his motorcycle to supply milk. The gang waylaid and hacked him.A seriously injured Ilavarasan was rushed to the government general hospital where he died late in the night. Villianur police registered a case and started investigation. Meanwhile, an unruly mob indulged in violence at Villianur on Saturday night and broke the windscreen of few vehicles.
