Karnataka CM orders for Cauvery water release to Tamil Nadu due to heavy rain
The Cauvery Water Management Authority, in its first meeting on July 3, ordered Karnataka to release 31.24 TMC water to Tamil Nadu in July.

According to reports, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday ordered to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu following heavyrains in the state.
Due to heavy rains, the water levels in Kabini and Krishnarajasagardams have increased. Having released 35 cubic feet water from Kabini damalready, it is speculated that the latest order from Karnataka CM will result in release of higher volume of water to Tamil Nadu.
