Trio’s arrest leads to recovery of stolen property
Gold jewels, silver articles and cash all valued around Rs 8 lakh were recovered following the arrest of three ex-convicts at Gudiyattam on Wednesday. After a spate of two-wheeler theft and house breaking incidents in areas in and around Gudiyattam, a special team was formed to nab the culprits.

When police were patrolling on Tuesday night they got a tip-off that three persons were going on a stolen motorbike near Kondasamudram. When cops intercepted the trio and questioned, it came to light that they were ex-convicts and were involved in 20 two-wheeler thefts and house breaking cases. The trio, identified as Sukumar (29), Yuvaraj (30) and Mohan (30), all residents of Gudiyattam, was arrested. During interrogation, they confessed their involvement in bike lifting and thefts. Based on information given by the trio, police recovered 30 sovereigns of jewels, Rs 10,000 in cash, half kg of silver articles, 6 stolen two-wheelers and 4 mobiles.
