Speaking to reporters here, he condemned the postponement of local body elections and predicted that there will never be local body polls until Lok Sabha elections are over.
While lauding the mass blood donation camp by the police department on Friday, the TNCC chief charged that those collected blood were not properly saved and transported. He claimed that there is nothing to celebrate on the organ donation achievement. “There is a big scam in organ donation in Tamil Nadu and it should be inquired properly.
A one man commission by a retired judge should undertake the probe,” he said.
Charging that there is a hidden agenda on the allocation of less force to Idol Wing IG AG Pon Manickavel, the TNCC chief claimed that several VIPs from various quarters including political parties are involved in the idol theft cases and so the state government wants to rescue those VIPs from punishment. “Why should the state government down play the efforts of honest officials,” he asked.
Meanwhile, Thirunavurkkarasar urged the state government representatives, who will be participating in the Cauvery Water Management Authority meeting scheduled on July 2, to get due share of water to Tamil Nadu by giving pressure in the meeting.
He also urged the government to ensure the quality of the district roads properly and then go for the eight-lane Green Corridor Expressway.
“The state roads are in a bad shape and almost all the interior roads are not commutable. In such a backdrop what is the use of making expressway by destroying farm lands,” he asked.
