Kamal’s formula to create caste-free society
Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan stated that he would never leave questions unanswered and using the hashtag #AskKamalHaasan, urged users on Twitter to quiz him over the weekend.

Responding to a query on how he would help abolish the concept of caste, the 63-year-old said it should start in one’s own household. “I refused to fill in the caste and religion columns in both my daughters’ school admission certificates. That’s the only way it will pass on to the next generation. Every individual should start contributing for progress. Kerala started implementing the same.
Those who do so should be celebrated,” he answered.
On the topic of medical waste from Kerala being dumped in Tamil Nadu regularly as per reports, he said he had already spoken to his friend Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan about the issue. “I will speak again. We have to find a common solution which tackles the problem of both the states.”
He added that ‘Makkal Nalam’ is the broad spectrum of his philosophy. “We have many more verticals to explain; we will soon work on them and only then seek participation of the people.”
Fielding yet another query on joining hands with his contemporary and friend, actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, if it would benefit the people of Tamil Nadu, Kamal answered that people were jumping the gun too soon. “Coalition happens at a later stage, not now. Just seizing the power and then having internal squabbles is no good for the people. And a wasted exercise,” he said.
On opposing capital punishment, the actor-politician replied, “Law is not infallible, and we have seen that in history. Since it is not infallible, judgments cannot be irreversible.”
