Anna University releases merit list, 10 students secure cut-off marks of 200
Ten students, seeking admission to engineering seats in Tamil Nadu, have secured cut-off mark 200 out of 200, according to the merit list released by Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2016 (TNEA) for Anna University’s single window counselling.

Listing out the merit list, Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan said Keerthana Ravi from Coimbatore secured first rank.
He said a total of 1.59 lakh students, seeking admissions to engineering colleges, have registered through online.
According to him, only 1.04 lakh candidates turned up for certificate verification, which was done in 42 student's facilitation centres across the State.
The Minister said a week would also be reserved for addressing applicants’ grievances after the publication of the merit list.
"Since counselling for medical colleges will be held from July 1 to July 10, engineering counselling will he conducted after that", he said adding that the counselling will be organised in five phases.
Anbalagan also said that the State had approached Supreme Court seeking order to conduct counselling for engineering admissions even after July.
The Minister said that this year a total of 509 colleges will be participating in the counselling. When asked about the fees structure, Anbalagan said the fees structure will be Rs 55,000 for recognised colleges.
"For management quota, the fees structure will be Rs 87,000", he said.
