IAS officer appears before Jaya probe panel
IAS officer Ramalingam, doctor Nalini and nurse Prema appeared before the Justice A Arumughasamy enquiry commission probing the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at Kalas Mahal here on Wednesday.

Ramalingam, who was Secretary IV to the chief minister, was sent summons after his initial deposition on April 17.
Dr Nalini is said to have informed the commission that on December 5, Jayalalithaa experienced multiple organ failure and went into a coma before her demise. She was also questioned about the conduct of the hospital staff and the administration during the treatment received by Jayalalithaa.
Individuals who have been sent summons but failed to appear on the required date will be cross-examined by VK Sasikala’s counsel Raja Senthoor Pandian on July 9. IG KN Sathyamurthy and editor of Tughlak magazine S Gurumurthy are due to appear before the commission on June 28. More than 50 people have deposed before the commission so far.
The Commission is expected to submit its final report on October 24. The one-member enquiry commission’s term was to end on June 24. Justice Arumughasamy wrote to the state government seeking a six-month extension, but the government granted only four months.
