3,000 new teachers for government schools, colleges
To fill the existing vacancies in government colleges and institutions, Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board has decided to recruit more than 3,000 candidates with immediate effect.

The board, in its plan for 2018-19, said as a part of the process, more than 1,000 lecturers will be recruited for various government polytechnic colleges.
A recruitment notification was issued in this regard. Accordingly, existing 25 vacancies for agricultural instructors will also be filled shortly.
A total of 1,883 assistant professors will be appointed in various government arts and science colleges across the State. Also, as many as 57 vacancy posts of assistant elementary education officers will also be filled this year.
Candidates applying for agricultural instructor will have to appear for exams on July 14, the results of which will be announced in August, said sources. Similarly, exams for the post of lecturer in government polytechnic colleges will be held on August 4. However, as there is a case pending in the court in connection with the recruitment lecturer post, the exams will be conducted as per the verdict.
“As the examination was over for the candidates who applied for the assistant professors’ posts in government arts and science colleges, the certificate verification process is going on,” a senior official from the recruitment board said.
The exams for the post of assistant elementary educational officer will be held on October 6 and 7 this year. After the notifications are served in the first week of July, the teachers’ eligibility test will be conducted on October 6 and 7. The results will be announced in November.
Sources from the board added that in 2017, a total of 6,390 vacancies were filled in various government colleges and institutions in the State.
