The party’s high-level committee member Arjunaraj, who took part in the meeting last night, also demanded a referendum on separate Tamil Eelam among the Tamils in the island and outside the island, besides the removal of military presence in Tamil areas.Â
Recalling the UNHRC resolution in March 2014 calling for an independent, international enquiry into the human rights violations in Sri Lanka, he said the council should arrange independent international probe since the Lankan government is refusing to allow any probe committee into their country.Â
He also called for removal of Sinhalese colonies in Tamil Eelam and eviction of the military from Tamil areas in the island nation, a press release from the MDMKÂ here said.
