Sirkazhi tense as Kamaraj statue found damaged
Tension prevailed at Sirkazhi in Nagapattinam district on Saturday after unidentified miscreants damaged the statue of former chief minister K Kamaraj. The Nadar Makkal Peravai lodged a complaint with the District Superintendent of Police to nab the culprits.

Residents of Esaniatheru in Sirkazhi, where the statute is located noticed the damaged. They gathered near the spot and raised slogans against the miscreants.Â
They also demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits, who they alleged wanted to disrupt peace in the society. Later, the Nadar Makkal Peravai founder ‘Karate’ Raja met the Superintendent of Police and lodged a complaint with him. He warned of a protest if the culprits were not apprehended.
