Speaking to the media after the inauguration of the banks at KK Nagar, Ariyamangalam and Vengur, Raju said, in a move to boost industrial development, the Salem-Chennai green corridor has been sanctioned by the Centre with an amount of Rs 10,000 crore. As part of the project, land acquisition is under way. “The CM has elaborated about the project in the Assembly and the leader of opposition also had accepted the explanation but a few people have been instigating protests just to become popular among the public. The media should avoid these people. They just want to portray themselves in the media and so they have been instigating these types of protests,” he said.
