The learning structure aims to encourage children to use their intelligence rather than merely following instructions. “Simplified Activity Based Learning (SABL) is a child-centric pedagogy.

Continuing the tradition of child-friendly education, the existing pedagogy is being modified by integrating technology for students studying at primary level,” a senior district education officer said.

He said four different kinds of strategies targeting different categories – teacher contact, peer group, individual and assessment – are being followed to improve the learning outcomes.

Active Learning Methodology is learner-centric and it involves students actively in the learning process. “There is a space for the child to think, to discuss, to question and to involve in the assessment in a fear-free and shy-free at-mosphere,” the official added. The official said project-based learning provides students with opportunities to make a difference by solving real problems. Teachers at block level would be trained and they would be engaged to guide the students in their schools to do different projects.
