NDA govt caused ‘hardships’ to people, says Narayanasamy
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Tuesday said the NDA government at the Centre has ‘caused hardships’ to people through ‘injurious economic and monetary policies’.

“Demonetisation, GST system and failure to provide loans to farmers and rescue them from debt trap had given rise to widespread anger against the NDA government. The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has caused hardships to people through injurious economic and monetary policies,” he alleged.
Narayanasamy was addressing a meeting organised in connection with the 48th birthday of Congress President Rahul Gandhi here on Tuesday. “The Lok Sabha polls in 2019 would witness a thorough defeat of the BJP across the country,” he said.
In a veiled reference to Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, with whom he had been at loggerheads ever since she assumed office in 2016, Narayanasamy said, “All the bottlenecks the government here is facing would disappear in 2019.” Narayanasamy called upon the party men to get ready for the poll battle and ensure that the Congress staged a comeback at the Centre in 2019.
Convene special session’
AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan on Tuesday demanded the convening of a special session of the Puducherry legislative assembly on Wednesday itself to discuss issues pertaining to the Centre refusing to give permission for the presentation of the annual budget 2018-19.
Addressing a press conference, Anbazhagan said the reason for the refusal of giving permission for the budget, who was preventing it, whether it was political vendetta for not allowing the three nominated members etc. need to be discussed for which the special session should be convened.
He also demanded a White Paper on the issue from the government. Anbazhagan said Narayanasamy was trying to hide his “inefficiency” in issues such as administration and financial constraints.
Further, he has failed to get the permission of the union government to present the budget and in a bid to ‘confuse’ the people, the CM has called for an all-party meeting on Wednesday.
Anbazhagan charged this was a move to “fool” the public and added that a meeting to discuss the financial situation after the announcement of the budget session was a “mockery”.
