Tamil outfit leader booked for controversial TN map in brochure
A case was booked against a man who made a controversial map in a brochure for the conference of a pro-Tamil outfit by displaying Tamil Nadu chained to India, in Thanjavur on Wednesday.

D Silambarasan (37), a resident of Maruthuvakudi near Kabisthalam is a homeopathy practitioner who has been residing in Chennai. He also holds the post of the president of the Tamil Desa Kudiyarasu Katchi.
His outfit has scheduled a conference titled ‘Tamilar Padukappu, Tamilar Thayaga Meetpu’ (Protection of Tamils, Retrieval of Tamils’ motherland) at Kumbakonam on July 15. The invitation for the conference was uploaded in his Facebook page featuring a drawing depicting a hand protruding out of Tamil Nadu and chained to the Indian Union and another holding a supporting hand for the Eelam areas of Sri Lanka.
The invitation listed a host of speakers, including Thyagu of Tamil Desiya Viduthalai Iyakkam, Kovai Ku Ramakrishnan of Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam, farmers’ leader Ayyakannu and SP Udhayakumar of People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy.
On noticing the caricature on the Facebook page, Surendrakumar, Village Administrative Officer, lodged a complaint against Silambarasan with the police.
