Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), DMK Rajya Sabha MP and party organising secretary RS Bharathi detailed the five road projects, including Rs 1,515 crore Oddanchatram – Dharapuram – Avinashipalayam project (70.20 km) awarded to relatives of Palaniswami’s family members and ‘benamis’.
Bharathi said that the CM “entered into a criminal conspiracy with Chandrakanth Ramalingam, P Subramaniam, P Nagarajan, J Sekar alias Sekar Reddy and the firms, M/s Ramalingam & Company, SPK and Company Expressway Private Limited, and Balaji Toll Ways (Madurai) Private Limited and abused his official position as CM and minister for Highways and Minor Ports and thereby committed criminal misconduct, obtained undue pecuniary advantage for himself and thus committed offices punishable under Section 120-B of IPC and 13 (1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.”
“The Chief Minister has amassed wealth by using his office as highways minister and committed other offences as well which needs further probe in the interest of justice,” Bharati said, requesting a criminal case and investigation against EPS.
