Jaya’s ex-aide, former CoP get panel summons
The Justice A Arumughaswamy enquiry commission probing into the death of former CM J Jayalalithaa has issued summons to former city Police Commissioner S George to appear before it on June 13.

Jayalalithaa’s aide S Poongundran and IAS officer A Ramalingam have been asked to appear on June 16. Poongundran had deposed before the commission on June 2 and has been summoned again.
Doctors at Apollo Hospitals Raj Mathangi and Vikram are due to appear before the commission on June 14.
Jayalalithaa had spent 75 days at the hospital, before passing away on December 5, 2016. After a prolonged furore surrounding the secrecy about her hospitalisation, the Government formed the one-man enquiry commission on September 24, 2017. The commission was originally due to submit its final report on December 24, 2017 had its term extended by the State government. Over 50 individuals have deposed before the commission so far and cross-examination by VK Sasikala’s counsel Raja Senthoor Pandian is also underway simultaneously.
