Health check-up schemes now available at Omandurar hospital

Stating that it is not only important to detect the disease at the right time, but also to ensure the administering of the right treatment, the Chief Minister said, “Since many private hospitals are charging exorbitant amounts for a full body check-up, many people are not able to afford it. Understanding this, such a programme was implemented... To ensure that poor get good medical care, we have modernised the GHS and PHCs.”

Explaining the provisions of the scheme, he said that there are three packages – Amma Gold, Amma Diamond and Amma Platinum.

“Amma Gold which costs Rs 1,000, consists of complete hemogram, urine analysis, blood sugar, lipid profiles, liver function test, HbsAg, Blood Grouping and Typing, ECG, chest X-Ray, USG abdomen and pap smear. At the cost of Rs 2,000, Amma Diamond includes Echocardiogram, PSA, Thyroid profile, besides all that is under Amma Gold. Amma Platinum, on the other hand, costs Rs 3,000 and will be a combination of the above mention packages, with an inclusion of Digital Mammogram (female above 35), Dexa scan and bone profile,” he added.

Stating that so far, 26,900 people have benefitted through this scheme in RGGGH, he said, “People over 30 years of age in villages can avail this at no cost under the Amma Health Care Scheme. Now, 400 PHCs, 31 UPHCs and 99 government hospitals have this scheme.
