Engineering admission: Verification to begin today
After the online registration process is over, certificate verification for the students seeking admissions into engineering courses in Tamil Nadu will begin from Friday.

The verification procedure will be carried out at 42 TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs) located across the State. So far, 1.59 lakh students have enrolled through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission counselling.
Sources from Anna University, which conducts the engineering admission, said original certificates verification will be done at the TFCs from Friday till next Thursday. However, in Chennai, the verification will be conducted until June 17. The candidates have been intimidated about the verification process, their designated venues, date and time.
Accordingly, the candidates should report at the designated TFC one hour before their scheduled time with a printout of the registered application with their photo affixed on it, originals and their photocopies of the certificate mentioned in their application. Thereafter, they will collect information about colleges booklet. A video show on online counselling will also be screened. “Students who cannot attend it themselves can authorise their relatives to attend it,” sources said. Certificate verification for eminent sports persons will be done only at Anna University premises from Friday till June 17.
The rank list is expected to be published next week and a week would be reserved for addressing the applicants’ grievances after publication of the merit list. The applicants would be grouped based on a merit list into rounds, and each group of applicants would be allowed into the counselling system round-wise. A total of 1,59,631 candidates have registered for getting admission to engineering seats in the State, while 2,249 candidates have registered for vocational courses.
