“Why the DMK is hesitant to raise the issue of terrorism in Tamil Nadu? What is the background of the DMK’s silence on the issue?” the Union Minister asked, when he spoke to reporters at the airport here.
He also asked if there were terrorists among those who were shot dead in the Thoothukudi police firing and demanded if so, the state government should answer why it is providing Rs 20 lakh solatium to the families of terrorists.
Citing the death of a woman Valliammai in Karungulam when a bus was burnt by unidentified persons, Radhakrishnan said the state government should provide the same amount of Rs 20 lakh to her family. He also appealed to the people to boycott the rise of terrorism on the basis of language and religion. He added that the DMK should clarify that they did not have connection with the ‘evil forces’.
