Arrest those who cast shame on AIADMK leaders, says Anbazhagan
Taking strong exception on registering petty cases against those who cast shame on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam during the bandh here on May 25, AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan on Sunday demanded that they should be arrested under ‘Goondas Act’ or non bailable sections.

Speaking to the newspersons, Anbazhagan said that the Puducherry Students Federation had made two of its volunteers wear the mask of Palnaiswami and Panneerselvam and pulled them through the main thoroughfares of the town and beat them with chapel as if they are doing the same to the Chief Minister and deputy Chief Ministers.
After complaints were lodged with the Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and the DGP, cases were registered against the volunteers who were arrested on Saturday. However, he alleged that the police “cheated” the Lieutenant Governor and rather registered petty cases against them and later released them.
Alleging that Puducherry Chief Minisiter Narayansamy is supporting such elements in the union territory, Anbazhagan said that it will not take much time for the AIADMK to stage acts against Congress president Rahul Gandhi or the DMK working president MK Stalin.
But the party, considering the reputation of the leaders, will not do so, he said. The AIADMK leader also added that he will again meet the Lieutenant Governor in another couple of days.
If proper action was not taken even after that, the AIADMK would resort to such sort of agitations, he asserted.
