Wife squats on road, alleges husband ran away after cop’s assault
A woman on the intervening midnight of Tuesday and Wednesday suddenly squatted on the road along with her children near the Makhan signal in Vellore alleging that following her husband had ran away after being allegedly assaulted by the police.

Sathishkumar (32), a serviceman from Vellore, had come to his home town along with his wife Meena (30) and their two children from Ooty where he was posted.
The couple, who had some differences over some issue, had lodged a complaint with the police. Both were asked to come to the Vellore north police station for an inquiry.
Meena said that on their way to the station, Satishkumar was allegedly assaulted by the police after which he ran away from the spot. Thereafter, Meena and her two children squatted on the road at midnight which led to a traffic blockade.
Police rushed to the spot and pacified Meena, after which she her two children left the spot. However, the whereabouts of Satishkumar were still not known.
