Upset over only son’s death in accident, parents end life

Twenty two-year-old Nishant and his friend Kripakaran were riding a motorcycle to their hometown Pallipalayam in Namakkal district, when the two-wheeler was involved in a collision with a cargo-carrying vehicle, they said. 

The riders died on the spot, they added. On coming to know about Nishant’s death, his parents Shaktivel and Sudha had gone to the hospital where they saw his body.

Shaktivel and Sudha were very upset over their son’s death that they reportedly consumed poison, the police said. The couple was later taken to a hospital, where they died.
