The interaction is expected to be on the lines of the grievances faced by women in the state and how best to resolve them, as he seeks to carve a new image and support. The 67-year-old actor could also choose some of his core members among them for his eventual party announcement.

Though female representation was almost non-existent at Rajinikanth’s fan meets over the years, the last few months, since his political announcement on December 31 last year, have seen a surprising number of women sign up to the superstar’s Makkal Mandram – which may have to do with Rajinikanth appointing women presidents in districts like Vellore, Tirunelveli, and so on.

Tiruchy boasts of what is apparently the first-ever Rajini Makkal Magalir Mandram, a women’s forum that was instituted in January. The meeting comes on the heels of Rajinikanth’s interaction with the district level office-bearers and the members of the youth wing over the past week.

This was days after the audio launch of his movie Kaala that saw Rajinikanth call elected members from his state-wide fan club at his Poes Garden residence. He is also expected to meet close to 8,500 office-bearers of the Rajini Makkal Mandram later this month.

The meeting is expected to provide a platform to discuss the next steps in strengthening the grassroots membership in the organisation by spurring recruitment at the booth-level in each district.

    Tribute to Balakumaran

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth paid tributes to writer Balakumaran who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 71. He said, “Balakumaran is a dear friend. I am saddened by his demise. His dialogues were instrumental in making Baasha a super hit. But he didn’t want to work in films and chose to devote himself to literature and spirituality. My condolences to his family in this difficult times.”
