No life-long ties with DMK, says TNCC chief
As speculation surrounding the DMK-Congress alliance refuses to die down, state Congress president Su Thirunavukkarasar on Sunday left ‘ally’ DMK thinking by stating that no two parties forge life-long alliances.

Reiterating that his party’s alliance with the DMK was continuing to reporters, Thirunavukkarasar wondered if any two parties have forged life-long alliance or had electoral understanding for a life time. “Alliance has to be decided during elections. Congress-DMK alliance is continuing,” he remarked.
“It could happen in next election or the one after that or after ten years, but, stating that does not mean we are breaking away from the DMK. How can a Congress president strengthen the party without saying that we would form Kamarajar government?” the TNCC chief asked.
He also dismissed rumours about a third front. He said, “There is no third front. Who is the leader of the front? Has anyone proclaimed it? Has it taken shape. Who are the constituents of third front? Will CPM be a part of Mamata’s third front? Congress will be the only replacement for the BJP.” He refused to comment on the Cauvery case.
