The meeting that took place last week was known to the media only a few days later, besides KC Palaniswami had not met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami till now. The expelled Palaniswami was with Panneerselvam when the ruling party split and he is also fighting a case demanding an election for the post of general secretary in the AIADMK.
KCP told reporters that the AIADMK MPs in the Lok Sabha must bring a no confidence motion against the BJP government if the Centre did not form the Cauvery Management Board.
He had said former chief minister J Jayalalithaa had fought for Cauvery rights throughout her life and the AIADMK should not compromise on the issue. He had also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking to implead himself in the ‘Two Leaves’ case.
His petition had stated that the AIADMK constitution did not allow for a coordinator and joint coordinator and only the general secretary can run the party.
Palaniswami, who spoke to reporters on Wednesday, admitted that he had talks with OPS and said he wanted the setting up of a 15-member steering committee and insisted that an election to the post of general secretary should be held, which will enthuse cadres.
