Summons issued to 40 ONGC protesters
Around 40 persons have been summoned by the Alangudi court for protesting against ONGC in Neduvasal in the past few days and asked them to appear before it by May 15.

Sources said that cases have been filed against around 40 persons, including the anti-hydrocarbon activists T Kannan, S Duraipandiyan and APR Kumar from Keeramangalam in Alangudi taluk in Pudukkottai district for protesting the ONGC’s Hydrocarbon Extraction and Licensing Policy.
The summons were also sent to D Rajakumaran, N Pothiyappan, N Vijay Anand, M Subramaniyan, T Sudhakar, K Saravanan, A Selvakumar, S Murali, R Rajaram from Vadakkadu.
At least 40 people have been charged. Some had been reportedly asked to collect the summons at the police stations. Meanwhile, the people are planning to organise protests against registration of such cases.
