Two-storeyed Nagai building sinks, sealed
Tension prevailed in Agarakkeerangudi near Mayiladuthural in Nagapattianam district early on Friday after a two storey building that housed five families sunk for nearly a foot inside the earth and the revenue officials of Nagapattinam sealed the building and evacuated the families.

The owner of the building Najamunisha claimed that she had got the approval for the layout and construction of the building. Vijaya Raghavan, Tahsildar, Mayiladuthurai Taluk visited the spot and checked the stability of the building. Subsequently, he evacuated all the families and took the building under control. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
