Vellore Collector reviews arrangements for NEET
In an effort to ensure the smooth conduct of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) for medical admissions scheduled on May 6, Collector S A Raman on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements made in the district.

Chairing a meeting in this regard, the Collector ordered police, health and transport department officials to ensure that students and those accompanying them were not put to any hardships when they arrive at the centres from various places.Â
While police officers were asked to ensure tight security at all the examination centres, health officials were directed to be ready to handle cases of emergency. Raman also instructed transport officials to assist candidates so that they reached their respective centres without any problem.Â
The collector also said parents and relatives of candidates should be provided with lodging facilities, while drinking water facilities must be made available at the centres. Several government officials attended the meeting.Â
A total of 9,053 students are expected to appear for the NEET which will be held between 10 am and 1 pm in 14 centres in the district.
