After receiving a memorandum submitted by a delegation from the tamil film industry, the Governor promised that the State would get a favourable reply on the issue in a couple of days.
Talking to reporters outside the Raj Bhavan after the meeting, Nadigar Sangam President Nasser said the issue has been a vexatious one for several decades.Â
The Centre should not show haste. It should not take decision against the welfare of Tamils, he added.Â
"Hence we submitted a memorandum that comprised of 5000 signatures today", he said.Â
He said the Governor promised that Tamil Nadu would get a favourable reply over constituting the CMB in a couple of days.
President of the Tamil Film Producers Council Vishal, Directors Association President Vikraman, FEFSI chief RK Selvamani were also present at the meeting.
It may be recalled that top actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan attended a silent fast a couple of weeks ago, organised by the film industry demanding the Centre to set up the CMB and the CWRC.Â
The entire film industry took part in the day long fast.
